 OUR CORE VALUES:
Women of Concern Professionals & Strategic Conscious Networking (WOCPSCN) core is to address gender equality and equity through replicable membership initiatives that address women's health, education, and community development.

HOW WE BEGAN:
Women of Concern Professionals & Strategic Conscious Networking was organized on Linkedin in December 2009.  One year later, several local women established WOCPSCN as a community professional organization.  Our first project, the Antioch (CA) Film and Music Festival was  scheduled for Labor Day Weekend, 2011.  Although the event was canceled,  our mission to maintain community socioeconomic sustainability motivated us forward.   We established our monthly signature event, the AM Power Networking held at local cafes.  Our first AMPN took place at Caffe' 817, Oakland, CA and Nuce Nuce Cafe', Antioch, CA.
In order to enhance small business growth and development, in 2012,  we established the B4B:  Business 4 Business Networking and Job Fair, held at the Scottish Rites Building, Oakland, CA, and the following year the Bay Point Community Center,  Bay Point, CA.

OUR COMMUNITY HEALTH COMMITMENTS:
The Biannual Lavender Luncheon Honoree was established as our international education fundraising event.  Our  Honorees were given the prestigious position to sit on the International Congress Council that promotes our global academic relationships, such as  God's Planet for Haiti Elementary School, Haiti,  WI.
We identified the effects of domestic violence and diabetes on communities through the Lena Baker DV & Women's Health Virtual Summit, and  Walking In Silence for the Silenced:  Domestic Violence Solidarity Walk  began in 2013.
In 2021 A-1 Nail Salon (Jersey City, NJ)  supported the Walk by polishing their thumbs purple.  We now ask salons to paint their guests and clients thumb purple in solidarity during Walking In Silence for the Silenced: DV Solidarity Walk (first Saturday in November).
Adding to our concern about the impact of domestic violence, the Queen Nzinga Project Beauty Fete'  invites the beauty industry to donate their services.  This local event is designed to help women and children remove themselves from the stigma of domestic violence with a day of pampered beauty.

OUR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY INTIATIVES:
We believe in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and that Goal 5-Gender Equality for all women and girls, can create economic sustainability and community socioeconomic growth.
Women of African Diaspora Griots (WOAD) is a community literacy program that partners with local bookstores, and libraries to promote reading.  Our annual event enhances community literacy and educational goals by raising funds for global book distribution, bring awareness of gender literacy inequity, and embodies the ancient tradition of storytelling.
To enhance leadership skills, and self-esteem the Urban Gurl/Suburban Swurl initiatives provides community sports programs for girls ages 5-17 in basketball, soccer, and golf.
JazzyJZ  Mentoring  supports  young professional women to increase their business growth through   mentorship and training.  Our programs are constructed to enhance leadership skills, while we recognize their outstanding achievements.  The first Achievements Award  ceremony that took place at the  Jazz Cultural Center in San Francisco's historic Fillmore section, in 2014.

OUR CALL-TO-ACTION:
Our first Summit, in June 2021, heard the call of International Guest Speaker, Amb. Neil Parsan. The Global Sustainability Partnerships (GSP) purpose is to maintain a global alliance through our monthly virtual Convene.  We provide a platform for non-profit projects, global sustainable organizations, and businesses to exchange ideas while making connections. GSP's desire is to create collaborative security through solidarity within the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We believe that Positive support can create a desired outcome.
